Tell us about what got you into skateboarding.

Taylor

I saw these older dudes in my neighborhood skating outside everyday, and one day I just had to try it out for myself. Once you see and feel something that drives you to progress and want create you stick with it! After that I was hooked! Since then it has become an addiction. Skating everyday to school, from school, and after school. I always skated with that older crowd of guys I had to keep up, so I learned as fast as possible.

How long have you been skateboarding?

Taylor

It all started when I was 11 or 12, around then it's hard to pin point the day since then all I've known is skating. No matter how many bones I break or how many scars I get I can't stop now it's too late for that. Like I said I'm an addict.

What do you think of the skate scene in Utah?

Taylor

Utah is full of killer spots, skaters, and shops that support them all! Every park you go to there is another group of kids that know what's up! I get so stoked on skating with new people or dudes I haven't seen in awhile. Everywhere I go people are so damn good it's intense to see the everyone progressing. We all push each other I feel like, we all share the same passion! No matter if you are just beginning, getting good, are good, or are stupid good! The skate scene in Utah is great because despite some elitist people or areas, people are down for skating, and down for the people around them that skate it's a great vibe! Utah has a hardcore skateboard culture, and we are all a part of it!

What is the biggest issue you see with skateboarding right now?

Taylor

In the big picture of things skateboarding is just way to rad to worry about any aspect of it, seriously. I guess the only thing I really consider an issue is my own skating. I'm super passionate about my skating physically and emotionally. I just try to progress while having a killer time on my skateboard!

You recently were signed with Mini-Logo Skateboards, tell us how that worked out and what it means to you.

Taylor

First off, I just feel super lucky to be at the right place at the right time. That's really all it was, there are so many gnarlier dudes that skate in Utah. Basically Nate was holding down the shop as he always does (which by the way be totally rules for) I walked in to meet "Jersey" the brand manager of Mini-Logo from Skate One. He picked our brains on some skate questions and introduced the Militant movement to us. It is basically a grass roots program for dudes that shred worldwide, that represent why skateboarding is so sick in the first place! Mini-Logo technically doesn't have a team, but the Militant movement is about "Official Militants" globally who represent the brand and love skateboarding. I wasn't so sure right then about his intentions for us riding for the movement was, but I ran into him a couple days later at 9th and 9th and he saw me skate. He later met with Ezra at Annex and left me his email, I was so stoked connected with him right away. After sending him some footage, and discussing what I thought of the movement he made me Militant #42! To me this is still a real shock, it means so much to me that people support my passion for skateboarding! It's truly the most rewarding feeling for Ezra to hook me up, and talk me up, then have people respond to that is so unreal! So for Jersey to be down to support my passion it's so unreal. Just like getting on Ltd. so unreal to be supported!

What is skating to you and why do you skate?

Taylor

Skateboarding is what I am about, it's the ultimate reward. Skateboarding changes the way you see everything around you, all I see is possible spots, and the layout of the world becomes a place to shred! It's so hard to explain to people who don't skate or realize how embedded it is in skaters everywhere! It's a way of life, it's a lifestyle. For example, you get caught at a spot either a cop, or someone who thinks they have authority over you says, "hey, can't you read that sign!?" Obviously question, we can all read the sign, but this lifestyle separates any meaning that sign may held. It's a circle, they think we're idiots for skating the spot, we think they are idiots for not understanding our purpose in life.

You have been representing a local skate shop Annex Skate in Bountiful, how long have you been working with them?

Taylor

Ezra is the man, if anyone has any doubts about that, or has anything against that come and find me! I was told about Annex by Shane Martin my first sponsor at No Affiliation Skate Shop R.I.P. I showed Ezra some Youtube videos, and just hung around the shop. Doing anything I could to help him or the shop out! Ezra and Hose, ran the shop at first and on Go Skate Day, June 21, 2010 Ezra announced the first official Annex team, Myself, Nate, and Jordan Brown. I've been on Annex ever since! Ezra does so much for skateboarding, not just in Bountiful where the shop is located, but he is full on skateboarding. Ezra has the attitude, and the know-how to do anything. The simple fact is he, like me is 100% Skateboarder so Annex skate shop continues to support local, and state wide skateboarding! It's be best shop there is no questions, Annex is what's in our blood, pure skateboarding. I'm lucky to be a part of it!
